Green Spot Under Acrylic Nail
The green discoloration is classic for a Pseudomonas Bacterial Infection of the nail plate.
Green spot under acrylic nail. It is not the bacteria itself. Pseudomonas is a common bacteria found in soil and water and it can get trapped under a lifted acrylic nail. Thats why its fairly common with acrylic nail treatments.
Although this green discoloration may have the appearance of a mold this is NOT a mold. Some nail fungus from artificial acrylic nails may cause the natural nail to detach from its nail bed. It happens mostly when you are applying these nails yourself.
There was a time when techs were taught to treat the nail to remove a green spot. The green discoloration varies from blue-green to dark green to bluish-grey. It is more common with nails that are left on for 3 months or longer.
Beauticians may experience green nails which is caused by a bacterial infection caused by Pseudomonas. Green nail syndrome is caused by infection with Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The treatment for green nails is to remove the enhancement and trim clean and disinfect the nail to kill the pseudomonas bacteria.
Once you get the product off your nail wash it with soap and water douse it in Bactine or Peroxide take your hair dryer to it and make sure its dry. This can occur when moisture collects under acrylic nails. Green nail syndrome or GNS is an infection of the nails that leads to a greenish discoloration of nails wherein the underneath skin of the nails discolors which makes the nails appear green.
This bacteria thrives in moist environments. So poor fitting of the fake nails is also one of the causes of acrylic nail. The bacteria has grown because it has found a nice damp dark area to live and thrive.
